The space is made up of pods that each have a system that is two large touch screens that act as a group interactive ad making machine.

The machines are designed so that the students can edit video ads from an abundant source of clips which we produce and like monkeys on typewriters; create an infinite amount of road safety ads

A team of five of us locked ourselves in a white studio space for about six months, with the walls covered in drawings, stress testing the stories to see what would work. After creating simple animatics we designed a prototype of the system and asked people to make what they could and the results were astoundingly creative.

In the beta stages of the system's development we had test groups and it became abundantly clear that gen Z in general are born video editors and creators - being trained from every social media app, they knew how to push the boundaries of the system to create effects and storylines we hadn't planned.

The project ongoing as it is updated regularly with new content for different demographics.

The Road to Zero Learning Studio is a 10-year exhibit at the Melbourne Museum, created for high school students to learn about road safety by teaching each-other through making ads.
